Kevin Bruce Stanton, 63, of Charlestown, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. “Liz” (Pellerin) Stanton. Born in South Kingstown, a son of Mark D. Stanton of West Warwick and the late Mary E. (Hazard) Stanton. Kevin was a shell fisherman for many years before retiring. He served his country proudly as a U.S. Army Veteran; was a royal member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe; was an Elder of the Narragansett Indian Silver Clouds and was an icon in the community whom everyone loved and respected. Besides his wife and father he is survived by his children, Lorraine Melillo of Exeter, Muffy Vandroff of VA, Tannya Stanton, Steven Stanton and Allyson McCalla of Newport, Mikhaela and Priscilla Stanton of Providence; fourteen grandchildren; four sisters, Gayle Hazard of Narragansett, Lorraine Keyes and Joanne Stanton of West Warwick and Mary Ellen Stanton of North Kingstown and a brother, Bradley Stanton of Nauvoo, IL. He was the brother of the late Robert and Anthony Stanton. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016, 10 – 11:30 am in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 am. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery.
