Kevin F. Donovan

Kevin F. Donovan, 59, of Charlestown passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Karen J. Sherman-Donovan. Born in Providence, a son of the late Francis C. Donovan and Barbara E. (Smith) Martone. Mr. Donovan was the supervisor of the experimental machine shop in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Rhode Island. He had been previously employed as a toolmaker at General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division in both Quonset Point and Groton. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Kerry Patrick Donovan of Narragansett; a daughter, Kristen Mackenzie Donovan of Charlestown; two brothers, Thomas F. Donovan and his wife Emily of Sarasota, FL and Michael R. Martone and his wife Maria of Mashpee, MA; a sister, Christine Comella and her husband Thomas of North Smithfield and several nieces as well as a large extended family. His funeral service and burial are private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
