Kenneth Warren

February 24, 1921 — June 23, 2012

Kenneth Warren, 91, of South Kingstown died Saturday. Born in Bayonne, N.J., he graduated from Bucknell University in the Class of 1944. He served in the in the 1140th Engineers Combat Group in World War II and was among the first troops to land on the island of Leyte in the Phillipines. After the war, he settled in Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J. and was married to the late Isabelle Kent Warren for 60 years. Mr. Warren worked as salesman for Barrett Roofing and American Cyanimide, and was co-owner of cabinet manufacturer Lamica Corp. He was chairman of the Planning Board of Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J. and was active in the Community Church there. An avid skier, racing sailor and cycler, he was a member of Nyack Boat Club and New Jersey Ski Club. Mr. Warren maintained an intense interest in stock market investing. He is survived by two children, Christine Coleman of Peace Dale, R.I., and Dr. Jeffrey Warren of Fairfield, CT; five grandchildren, David, Michael and Stephen Coleman, and Scott and Corinne Warren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Kingston Congregational Church at 4:30 pm on Wednesday June 27th. Burial will be Saturday June 30th at 10 am in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
