Kenneth John Scott

On April 3, 2024 K. John Scott, 75, passed away from a traumatic brain injury occurring in 2018. Raised in Plattsburgh, NY, John was the son of Kenneth and Dorothy Scott.

John leaves his loving wife Judith, his son Douglas Scott and his wife Tracy, stepson Patrick Lyons and his wife Pam Collins, four grandchildren Cody, Ryan, Taylor and Cameron, and his siblings Kathy McGrath, Dennis Scott, Chris Lombardi, & Elizabeth Scott.

John studied at the University of New Hampshire, earning a PhD in Marine Sciences. After working at the EPA lab in Narragansett, John was recruited by Science Applications International Corporation as a senior research scientist in Newport, RI. In retirement, John and his wife traveled widely. They enjoyed boating on their trawler, the Scot Free. Their best voyage was cruising from Billington Cove up the Hudson River to Lake Champlain, John’s family home.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for John from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2024 in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
