Kenneth U. Rose, 87, of Wakefield, died Friday. He was the beloved husband of Viola (Crandall) Rose, for 64 years. Born in Wakefield, he was a son of the late Clifford and Doris (Underwood) Rose. Mr. Rose was the owner of Mill Stream Laundry & Dry Cleaning for 32 years, and had been employed by the South Kingstown School Department. He served in the United States Army during WW II. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Larry Rose and his wife Donna of Charlestown; a daughter, Linda Kent and her husband Russell of Wakefield; four grandchildren, Kenneth Rose, Benjamin Rose, David Kent and Staci Schultz; and three great-grandchildren, Russell Kent, Scarlette Schultz and Julia Schultz. He was the brother of the late Joseph Rose. Burial with military honors will be private in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
