Kenneth G. McCall, 67, of Wakefield passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday. Born in South Kingstown, he was the son of the late Robert F. and Elizabeth (Arundale) McCall. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Lynn (Smith); and their three children, Kendall Witherell and her husband Stephen of East Providence, Krista Chappell and her husband Michael of South Kingstown and Robert J. McCall and his wife Janelle of Wakefield. Kenneth "Poppy" will also be forever remembered by his ten wonderful grandchildren, Tyler, Olivia, Nicholas, Kelsey, Emily, Harrison, Kimberly, Cole, Lucas, and Cameron. Kenneth is survived by a sister Barbara McCall of Tennessee. He was the brother of the late Joan Meader and William McCall. Kenneth was employed as a Groundskeeper at the University of Rhode Island for many years before retiring. He was an enthusiastic sports fan of the New York Yankees and Green Bay Packers. Some of his favorite pastimes include NASCAR racing and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 am at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Visiting hours are Sunday, 3-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Autism Project, 1516 Atwood Avenue, Johnson, RI 02919. The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Brigham and Womens Hospital, South County Hospital and The Philip Hulitar Hospice Center for their care and dedication.
