Kenneth Vernon Hoffman

Kenneth V. Hoffman, 83, of South Kingstown, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Newport Hospital.

He was the son of the late John Clarke Tucker and Velda Ruth Rodman.

Ken graduated from South Kingstown High School and went on to work in a wide variety of jobs in the Dining Services of the University of Rhode Island for over 36 years.

Ken was a life long devoted member of Curtis Corner Baptist Church, serving the church in many capacities. He enjoyed history, especially local history, and the development of trains. He particularly loved the music of train whistles.

Ken is survived by his siblings, David Rodman and his wife Donni, Thomas Rodman and his wife Nina; his nieces: Kate Shepard and her husband Morgan, Rebecca Dowiot and her husband Josh, Sarah Duprey and her husband Tom, Alyson Deutsch and her husband Matt; his nephews, Isaac Rodman and his wife Nerissa, and Nathaniel Rodman; and his great nieces, Anna Dowiot and Caroline Deutsch; and great nephews: Ben, Sam, and Liam Shepard and Wesley Deutsch.

In addition to his parents, Ken is predeceased by his sister, Cynthia Rodman Thomas.

Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held at Curtis Corner Baptist Church on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
