Kenneth Alfred Capalbo

August 5, 1943 — February 28, 2022

Kenneth A. Capalbo, 78, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his wife and children on February 28, 2022. He was born on August 5, 1943, in Wakefield, RI, the son of the late Dr. Sylvester and Beatrice (Donato) Capalbo. Kenny served in Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne Brigade of the United States Army and was a retired correctional officer for the State of Rhode Island. Although respected by many as Mr. C / coach / teammate / colleague, loved by several as brother and uncle, cherished by one as husband, and adored by two as Dad, the title he treasured the most was that of Grampy. This was especially true when it came to his sidekick, Aaliyah. Inseparable for the first half of her life, the love between the two was simply undeniable and he will forever watch over his special little girl. A humble man governed by his faith, he would rather be known for his integrity than his accolades. He will be missed by all who knew him and will be creating an Over The Hill Gang softball team in heaven. In addition to his parents, Kenny was predeceased by his younger sister, Beatrice and just weeks ago by his older sister, Geraldine, wife of Barry Sloat. Family was everything to Kenny. In addition to being survived by his wife of 52-years, Carol (Donelly) Capalbo, he leaves behind his son, Kyle Capalbo and his wife Cavel; daughter Kendra Moffat and her husband James; six grandchildren, Julie, Ricardo, Aaliyah, Gabrielle, James and Marleigh; two great-grandchildren, Kymani and Amiyah; three siblings, Arlene Gould and her husband Steve, Dr. Robert Capalbo and Wendy Kuczynski; nineteen nieces and nephews; thirty great-nieces and nephews and four great-great-nieces and nephews. Kenny’s last request was that the Capalbo family reunion continue so hopefully many of the aforementioned individuals will participate this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Kenny’s honor to either Shriners or St. Jude’s Hospitals. A private service for immediate family will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery, followed by a celebration of life at Mariner Grill, 140 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, RI 02882 on March 12, 2022 from 11:30 AM until 3:30 PM. Whether you simply stop by or stay the entire time, you are invited to come share stories and memories of this beloved man and support his family during their time of loss.
