Keith G. Maine

October 14, 1954 — May 4, 2025

Keith G. Maine, known affectionately as “Juggy” by friends and “Papi” by his beloved family, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the age of 70. Born in Westerly, Rhode Island, Keith was a longtime resident of South Kingstown, where he was a well-known and well-loved member of the community.

Keith was a devoted father to Keith E. Maine and his wife Meghan Maine, and to Nicole E. Maine and her husband Patrick E. Farrell, II, all of South Kingstown. He found his greatest joy in being “Papi” to his granddaughters, Gianna M. Goncalves and Alexandra M. Farrell, who were the light of his life. He shared his days with his companion Cheryl Egan and his faithful dog Rugby, and was predeceased by his parents, William E. Maine and Mary E. Tisdale, and brother William D. Maine.

Keith worked as a specialized machinist at Ahlstrom Pump and Brookwood Laminating, where his skill and precision set him apart. He was one of only three people in the country qualified to create high-performance sailing cloth used by the America’s Cup Racing Team. His work also contributed to materials used in protective gear for members of the United States Armed Forces—an accomplishment he was especially proud of.

Keith was a man of many passions. He was an avid bowler, known for his perfect 300 game and for his Friday night league at Old Mountain Lanes, where he was a regular both on the lanes and at the coffee counter. Keith could pick up just about any instrument and play it within the hour. He jammed on the guitar, danced like no one was watching (even when everyone was), and had a true gift for making people laugh. He loved golfing, blasting music, cheering for the Celtics (even when they didn’t deserve it), and riding his motorcycle with the kind of grin that could only come from a man who’d truly figured out how to enjoy the ride.

He was a little wild in his younger days, a lot wise in his later ones, and full of heart the entire way through. He didn’t just live—he lived. And those lucky enough to know him are better, funnier, and probably a little louder for it.

Keith will be remembered not just for his skills or stories, but for the way he made people feel: like they mattered. His memory lives on in every belly laugh, every great song, and every perfect cup of diner coffee.
