Kathleen Anne Ryan

Kathy Ryan, 69, of Charlestown, RI, formally of West Springfield MA., passed away April 27, 2022. Kathy was surrounded by her loving family and close friends. She is predeceased by her late husband Michael Ryan. Kathy and Michael owned and operated Special T Shops in Narragansett and Watch Hill, RI for the past 40 years. Kathy was admired, respected, and loved by all who knew her. She was a fighter for causes she believed in and always looked out for her community. Kathy was more than a successful businesswoman, she was a genuinely fun, happy person- her laugh was contagious, her wit was sharp as a knife and her generosity legendary. She will be remembered by her stepson, Mickey Ryan of West Springfield; her brother Robert Collins (Arleen); two sisters Anne Marie Halus (Bruce) and Chris Sheil (John). Kathy was devoted to her family and a protector of all! She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Adam and Casey Roy, Alissa and Scott Sagud, Lisa Roy, Johnny and Anna Sheil. Kathy followed in the family footsteps, especially her mother’s Marie Collins, (a.k.a. the Shell lady!) Kathy’s motto was “Just don’t price gouge, the customer will remember, and they will support you each and every summer.” A celebration of life will be held on June 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck School House Rd., Charlestown, RI.
