Kathleen M. Ryan

Kathleen M. Ryan, 80, of South Kingstown, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015. She was the wife of the late William E. Ryan. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Touhey) Paine. Mrs. Ryan was the loving mother of Sheila Ryan and Everett Rooney, Nancy Ryan and Ward Barry, Patricia and Paul Horoho, Deborah and Kevin Carney; cherished grandmother of Nolan, Abbigael and Dillon Carney, Jake Ryan Horoho and Tara Ryan Horoho; sister of Frances McSally and the late George, Frank and Emmett Paine. Mrs. Ryan was a longtime employee of both the Newport Naval Base and South Kingstown School Department. She was a devoted parishioner and volunteer at Christ the King Church where she served as Eucharistic Minister. She was a devoted follower of her grandchildren’s school and sport activities and loved her quality beach time with the family. The funeral will be Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Rd., Kingston. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Home and Hospice, 143 Main St. Wakefield, RI 02879.
