June B. Klensch, 89, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully Monday, July 8, 2019 at South County Hospital with family by her side. Born in Findlay, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. Klensch and Bernice L. (Green) Klensch of Cincinnati, Ohio. Graduated in 1948 from the College Preparatory School for Girls, Cincinnati, Ohio and studied at Stephens College, Columbia, MO and Bennington College, VT. June studied painting with Wallace Harrison as well as Paul Feely. A member of the NoHo Cooperative Gallery and other artists' organizations. Her paintings and drawings were represented in a number of private collections. She was a resident of New York City's Greenwich Village for over 50 years. Moving to Rhode Island to be close to her family, her last residence was Elderwood of Scallop Shell where she lived for over 10 years. Survived by her Niece E. Gabriele Klensch of Matunuck Beach, Nephew Charles J. Klensch of Carolina, two great-nephews, Ethan C. Klensch and Charles W. Klensch and one great-great nephew, Austin T. Klensch. She was the sister of the late Charles H. Klensch of New York City and Sydney, Australia. Cremation arrangements by Avery-Storti Funeral Home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to your local artist gallery.
