Judith M. Robinson, 77, of Hopkinton, RI, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on February 12, 2018. Judy was an intensely brave warrior in her battle with cancer. Judy was born on November 29, 1940, in New Britain, CT, the daughter of the late Francis and Aneila (Adams) Legas. Judy grew up in Newington, CT, and then was a longtime resident of Madison, CT, until relocating to Hopkinton, RI, to be near her family. Judy graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain and then earned a Bachelors of Music Education from the Hartt School of Music, studying voice and piano. She was a beloved and inspiring piano teacher, sharing her love of music with hundreds of studentsand every one of her eight adoring grandchildrenin her sixty-year career. She coupled her piano teaching with a certification in piano-tuning, and tuned pianos throughout southern New England, for music festivals, schools, her cherished parish, as well as the homes of her many students. Judy loved life. She lived for her family and spent every possible moment selflessly giving the gifts of her abundant love, enduring faith, and beautiful music as well as the bounty of her incredible knitting, cooking, and innumerable other talents. Her unbounded devotion to her family found her at hundreds of her childrens and grandchildrens concerts, sporting events, and celebrations of milestones big and small. Judy is survived by her sister, Joan LeBlond of Willington, CT; her longtime companion, Donald Clark of Hopkinton, RI; her four children: Catherine (Jeff) Hall of North Smithfield, RI, Kelley (Joseph) Liptak of Narragansett, RI, Michael Robinson of Kingston, RI, and Kerry Robinson of Narragansett, RI; and her most precious eight grandchildren: Erin, Bridget, Robin, Adam, Mark, Michael, Matthew, and Leah. Judy is predeceased by her former husband, L. Michael Robinson. Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 23 from 58 p.m. at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated on Saturday, February 24, at Christ The King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston, RI, at 10:00 a.m. A private burial will take place, at a later date, at St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations for her parishs Music Ministry may be made in Judys honor to Christ The King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston, RI 02881.
