Judith Alexander (Ford) Cavallaro passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, at the Hope Health Hulitar Center in Providence, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 84. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Lumena (Delahunt) Ford and sister to Patricia Conner, Robert L. Ford and the late William J Ford Jr. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Cavallaro for 55 years.
A graduate of St Xavier Academy and the University of Rhode Island, Judith pursued a career in social work. After raising her children she returned to work and was employed at the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families, until her retirement.
She had a great love of the ocean and was delighted to move to Narragansett from Providence in 2000 to live by the water. She and Frank enjoyed nearly twenty years there, where she especially liked spending time at home with family and friends and enjoying the quiet pace of the community. She had a special gift for conversation and was always happy to talk to friends and neighbors.
She is survived by her children, Michael Cavallaro of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, and Lisa Hollister and her husband Jeffrey of South Kingstown, as well as her grandchildren Morgan Cavallaro, Brenton Cavallaro, Maxwell Hollister and Gracie Hollister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 10:00 am in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St, Narragansett. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
