Judith (Judy) Anne Benford, 86, of Hampton Falls, NH passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18th. Born in Providence, Rhode Island to her loving parents the late Edwin and Margaret (Byrne) Farr.
Judy graduated from Warwick Veterans Memorial High School in Warwick, Rhode Island, and subsequently worked for New England telephone before prioritizing her family and raising her children in Southington, Connecticut and Wakefield, Rhode Island. She worked for many years at Shippee Insurance in North Kingstown, Rhode Island and Gallo Thomas Insurance in Wakefield, Rhode Island. After retiring she spent many years volunteering in South County Hospital and the Senior Center in Wakefield, Rhode Island before moving to New Hampshire to live with her daughter and her family. Judy loved the beach and she was an avid sports fan particularly the New England Patriots. Judy also cherished time with loved ones most of all her grandchildren. Her face never lit up more than when she was with them.
She is survived by her sons Stephen and his wife Amy, Scott and his wife Augusta, daughter Stacie and her husband Dale, and grandchildren David, Michaela, Andrew, Maggie and step-grandchildren Stephanie and Ethan. She is pre-deceased by her parents, sister Linda Farr and granddaughter Abbie.
She was the beloved sister of Margaret Cuddy, and her late husband Jack Cuddy, and Nancy Jones and her husband Robert. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and their beautiful children, whom she adored.
Visitation for Judy will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026 from 10:30 to 11:30, followed by a funeral home service at 11:30 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield. Burial will follow at Pawtuxet Memorial Cemetery, 100 Harrison Avenue, Warwick, RI.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her memory and life well lived immediately following the burial at a location to be announced at the services.
