Joyce J. Young

Joyce Josephine Young, 73, of Slocum, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2015. She was born on March 25, 1941 in Wakefield, RI to Bernice Mae Walmsley Young of Slocum and the late Edward Mason Young. Joyce was employed as a head cook at the URI dining services for many years. She was the devoted companion to Randle MacLeod of Slocum and is survived by a son; Randolph Scott MacLeod-Young of North Kingstown, and a daughter; Rochelle Ann Young of Slocum, two sisters; Diane LaFrance of Warwick, and Lorraine Bailey of Exeter; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and many more cousins. She was mother to the late Michael Mason Young and the sister of the late Merrill, Ronald, Rodney and Wayne Young. Calling hours at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, Friday, March 13, 2015 from 4-6 PM. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11 AM. Burial will take place at a later date..
