Joyce Marie Sewell

Joyce Sewell, 73, formerly of Peace Dale, passed away Wednesday October 26th. Born in South Kingstown, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Iola (Whitford) Hazard. Mrs. Sewell was employed at the University of Rhode Island for many years, until retiring. She was proud of her Narragansett Indian and Mashantucket Indian Heritage. She is survived by a daughter, Karen Hazard and daughter-in-law Lisa Hazard of Burrillville; eight grandchildren, Jacob, Noah, Alexandria, Kai, Eli, Greyson, Chance, and Peyton; a brother Dennis Hazard of Narragansett; and two sisters, Katherine Hall of Exeter and Iola Valles of Narragansett. She was the sister of the late Donald Hazard, Frederick Hazard, Joan Burrell, and Beverly Noka. Visiting hours will be Friday, November 4th at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, from 1-3 pm, with a prayer service at 2:50 pm
