Joyce Lynn Gardner-Dias, 66, of Exeter, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of Leroy J. Dias for 43 years. Born in South Kingstown, she was the daughter of the late Clifford T. and Mary Ester (Gardiner) Gardner. Joyce was a power plant engineer for the State of Rhode Island for many years before retiring; she was a lifelong member of the 4-H Club of Rhode Island for over 48 years; a member of the Slocum Grange #36 for 20 years and the American Legion Auxiliary for 66 years. Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Jennifer Lee and her husband Michael of Carolina, Randy Dias and his wife Tonja of New York and Robert Dias and his wife Barbara of Jacksonville, FL; two step-daughters, Amy Kuzenka and her husband Josh of Coventry, CT and Amanda Wilson of West Kingston; eight grandchildren, Mikaella and Amelia Lee, William, Benjamin and Faith Kuzenka, Riley Jordan Dias, Cody Howard and Max Vidal; two sisters, Marilyn Barrington of Wakefield and Betty Rocha of West Kingston; two brothers, Normand Gardner of Dole, NH and Glen Gardner of Exeter and her uncle, George T. Gardner of Bristol. She was the sister of the late Clifford T., Bill and Frank Gardner. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, 4-6 pm with a funeral service at 6 pm in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be private.
