Joseph V. Tally, Jr.

Joseph V. Tally Jr.,83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 7, 2015. He was the husband of Mary (Doherty) Tally for sixty one years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph V. and Anna (Lyons) Tally. He was a graduate of LaSalle Academy and Providence College. Mr. Tally was the former President of Joseph V. Tally Inc. (Tally’s) for many years before retiring. He was former President of Friends of Friar Hockey, Mal Brown Club, and Bonnet Terrace Association, a ten year volunteer at South County Hospital and a participant at the U.R.I. Parkinson’s Friday Group. He loved gardening and golf but most of all spending time with his family and beloved grandchildren and great granddaughter. He was the loving father of Kathleen Park (Matt Jones), Michael P. Tally (France Tally), and Dennis J. Tally (Elizabeth Tally); loving grandfather of Jennifer Crozier (Greg Crozier), Adam Park (Leslie Anthony), Damon Park (Erica Park), Evan Park, Jacqueline Tally, Capt. Michael J. Tally (Gabrielle Tally), Alyssa Tally, Madison Tally, Daniel Tally, Christopher Tally and Ava Tally; and great granddaughter Layla Crozier; loving brother of Mary Curran of Attleboro, MA and John Tally of Narragansett, and the late William Tally, Philip Tally and Frank Tally. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Rd., Narragansett. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Monday 5-8 p.m. in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
