Joseph D. Parente, Jr.

Joseph D. Parente, Jr., 64, of Harbour Island, died Tuesday at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Gail (Wolochka) Parente. Born in Warwick, he was a son of Joseph D. Parente of Warwick and the late Rita Parente. Mr. Parente honorably served in the United States Navy for six years during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including boating, spear fishing, clamming, doing construction with his sons, and was a fan of the New England Patriots. He will be remembered as a devoted family man who treasured the time he spent with his family. Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Derek Parente and Dominic Parente, both of Narragansett; three brothers, Albert Parente, Dennis Parente, and Larry Parente.; and four sisters, Alicia Quinn, Joanne Parente, Louise Parente, and Lynn Petronio. He was the brother of the late John Parente. A private burial with military honors will take place in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
