Joseph A. Murphy

Joseph A. Murphy, 80, of Narragansett, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John K. and Alice (Landry) Murphy. Mr. Murphy was a personnel director for NUWC. He was a graduate of Rhode Island College, earned his Master's from UCONN, and his MBA from Michigan State University. He was the loving father of Kilian J. Murphy and his wife Dawn of Rocky Hill, CT. Cherished grandfather of Connor. Caring brother of Alice Hultquist and her husband Henry, John Murphy and his wife Mary, and the late Catherine Slitt and late Natalie Catucci. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 10:30 am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt Judith Road, Narragansett, followed by burial at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 pm at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, R.I.
