Joseph B. Monroe, Iii

Joseph B. Monroe III, 42, of Rolens Drive, Kingston, died unexpectedly Monday. Born in South Kingstown, he was the son of Marlene (Brown) Monroe of Kingston and the late Joseph B. Monroe Jr. Joe was a graduate of Narragansett High School. He was a stonemason and painter for many years. He was a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe and grandson of Ellison Tarzan Brown and Ethel (Wilcox) Brown. Besides his mother he leaves three sons, Joseph B. Monroe IV, Marcus Allen Monroe and Jamie Cornelius Scott Monroe; his companion Kathleen Fry of North Kingstown; brothers, Michael J. Monroe of Narragansett and Jeffrey S. Monroe of Wakefield; sister Lori Monroe of Wakefield. He was the brother of the late Mitchell Monroe. The funeral will be held Friday June 27th at 11:00 AM in the AVERY-STORTI Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield. Burial will be in the Wilcox Historical Indian Cemetery, Charlestown.
