Joseph A. May, Sr.

Joseph A. May, Sr., 82 of Tabor Avenue, West Kingston, died Saturday. He was the husband of Linda (Tucker) May and the late Barbara E. (King) May. Born in South Kingstown, he was one of ten children to the late Lewis N. Sr. and Mary (Butler) May. Mr. May was a carpenter for the Burger Lumber Company and more recently had been a School Bus Monitor for DATTCO. He enjoyed gardening and playing cribbage. He is survived by three sons; Joseph A. May, Jr. of Warwick, Thomas May and Steven May, both of South Kingstown; a daughter, April Emmott of South Kingstown; a sister Julia May of Richmond; three step- children; Bonnie Geremiah and Richard Cassidy, both of Burke, NY, Debra Burns of Hope Valley; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and two step- great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday at 5 PM at the Perryville Bible Church, 220 Moonstone Beach Road, Perryville.
