Joseph E. Little

Joseph E. Little, 70, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully Friday, January 12th at South County Hospital. Joe was the husband of Marion (Dubois) Little. Born in Salzburg, Austria, he was a son of the late Lt. Col. Walter E. Little and Mary (Remington) Little.

Being part of a military family, Joe had the opportunity to travel the world and bond with his siblings. The Littles settled in Providence, RI where he excelled at various sports.

Joe loved being by the beach where he made his home. He also loved spending time in nature, gardening, bird watching and keeping busy with his hands, always building or repairing something. He was a basketball coach and worked as a fisherman, picture framer and construction worker, oftentimes working with family. Joe thoroughly enjoyed the community he felt through the YMCA’s Rock Steady Boxing program.

Along with his wife, Joe is survived by his children, Daniel Little (Emily Destasio), Katelyn Little (Ben Slotnick), a sister, Catherine Bert (Dr. Arthur Bert), two brothers, James Little (Margaret Little), David Little (Darsie Alexander), and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Jeffery Little.

A funeral home service will be held on Friday, January 19th at 12 Noon in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home at 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI 02879 with visiting hours from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
