Joseph O. Laurie, 68 of Maplehurst Dr., Narragansett, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at home. He was the devoted and loving husband of Judy A. (Feger) Laurie for forty seven years. Born in South Kingstown, he was the son of Peter G. Laurie of Narragansett and the late Eleanor E. (White) Laurie. Joe served as a staff sergeant in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was co-owner of Pt. Judith Welding with his family for forty five years. He was a longtime friend to the fisherman of Pt. Judith. Known as Coach Joe Laurie and Mr. Little League, he was a coach, board member and longtime volunteer of the Narragansett Little League for over thirty years. He was the loving father of Jody Waranis and her husband Justin and Jason Laurie and his wife Kathi; devoted and proud “Puff” to his grandchildren, Lance Joseph , Luke and Livy Waranis, Max, Sam and Zoey Laurie. He was the brother of Peter G. Laurie III, the late David Laurie and James Laurie. A Graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 p.m. in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Joseph O.
