Joseph N. James

Joseph James, 81, of Westerly, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014. Born in Richmond, a son of the late Benjamin and Minnie Alice (Cooper) James. Mr. James won many metals competing with Special Olympics, enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Shannock Baptist Church. He is survived by two brothers, William James and Robert James and his wife Mary both of Woodville and was the uncle of Tami Neill, Scott, Michael, Christopher, Robert James, Jr. and William James, Jr. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at 10 am in the Shannock Baptist Church, 1632 Shannock Rd., Shannock, RI. Burial will follow in Wood River Cemetery, Richmond. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Special Olympics Rhode Island, 370 George Washington Hgwy., Smithfield, RI 02917.
