Joseph R. Deblasi

Joseph Richard De Blasi, 88, of Pompano Beach, formerly of Rhode Island, passed away Friday, February 10th, 2023 after a brief illness. His soul is now at rest with God, who blessed him with a warm heart and smile, a loving family and great sense of humor.

Joe was the husband of the late Anne Marie Barbera De Blasi. Born in Alcamo, Sicily, he emigrated with his family to the United States living in Lodi, NJ before moving to Rhode Island. Joe was a graduate of South Kingstown High School, served in the U.S.Navy for 4 years and received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Rhode Island. He was a District Ops Manager for Xerox for 35 years before retiring to South Florida.

Joe was an avid supporter of URI Basketball where he hosted a number of players and attended all games, a former member of The South Kingstown Lions Club, a former member of the South Kingstown School Committee and New York Yankees fan. He hosted many soccer players over the summers and treated them like his own.

Joe was the loving father of Paul De Blasi of Pompano Beach, Peter De Blasi, and his wife, Monique of Pompano Beach; grandfather of Alyssa, Ashley , Alessandro, Gianna, and PJ; great grandfather of Leonidas and Lilliana. He was the brother of Adele White and the late Anthony DeBlasi; Uncle to many loved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 10:00 - Noon at the KRAEER-FAIRCHILD FUNERAL HOME, 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Joseph's funeral service will be held at 11:30 at the funeral home.
