Joseph C. D’Abrosca, 88, of Narragansett, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at home. He was the husband of Ann Marie (Sullivan) D’ Abrosca. Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late Luigi and Maria (Nardella) D’Abrosca. Mr. D’Abosca was a WW II United States Marine Veteran. He was a meat cutter for 1st National Market for fifteen years and Almacs for twenty seven years before retiring. He was past commander of VFW Post 916. A life member of American Legion Post 12, Marine Corp League Kent County Detachment and Iwo Jima Survivors, Sr. Vice Commander of District 3, All State Post Commander and Assistant Inspecting General for the National Aide De Camp. Besides his wife he leaves his children, Jo-Ann Manning, Deborah Ann Ranaldi, Suzanne Wright, all of Narragansett, Joseph D’Abrosca Jr. of North Port, FL and Kirsten Carlson of Winnetka, IL; a sister Mary Botella of Johnston; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was brother of the late Antonio, John, James, Salvatore, Louis and Carmella D’Abrosca. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., Narragansett. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 p.m. in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield.
