Joseph R. Cappuccio, Jr.

CAPPUCCIO, JOSEPH R. JR. “JOE” “PAPA”, 82, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday October 30, 2012, in Norfolk, VA. He was the beloved husband of the late Marion (McCabe) Cappuccio, to whom he was married for 61 years. Born in Wakefield, he was a son of the late Joseph and Marguerite (Ferrara) Cappuccio. He served in the US Navy Seabees during the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Cappuccio was President of Joseph R. Cappuccio & Son’s Masonry Construction until his retirement, along with being a Real Estate Broker. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Wakefield. Joe’s always caring and generous attitude will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by three children, Joseph R. Cappuccio III and his wife Patricia of Sebastian, FL, Maureen and her husband Michael Rogers of Wakefield, and Carleen and her husband CAPT. John Carter of Norfolk, VA; four grandchildren, Caitlin McGill and her husband Shawn, Brendan, Catherine and John Jr; a great granddaughter, Lyla; and a sister Marion Mull. He was the brother of the late Pasquele Cappuccio and Angie Seavey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Monday from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM.
