Joseph Brian

Joe was born in Providence to Vernon and Lillian Brian. Predeceased by his wife Alice Joyce (Smith) Brian. He attended Hope High School and King's Point Merchant Marine Academy in New York, serving in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He was a member of the 1947 class of Brown University and elected to the Board of Trustees in 1975. He was again recognized by Brown University in 2002 for his support to the community and the University.

He was President and owner of the former Brian Supply Company, Brian Machinery and Hydraulics Company in Providence and Massachusetts. He enjoyed memberships at the University Club in Providence, the Dunes Club and Point Judith Country Club in Narragansett.

He is survived by his children Carol Caporelli  and her husband Michael; Jeffery Brian; Wynne Brian and her husband Jerry Dixon of Seattle, WA; and was the father of the late Frederick Brian. He leaves behind six grandchildren: Joe, Beth and Ben Caporelli; Zack, Dylan and Danielle Dixon.
