John L. Woodruff

d. May 27, 2017

John L. Woodruff, 92, born in Pawtucket and a resident of Narragansett for over 60 years passed away May 27, 2017. John was married to Isabel (Walker) Woodruff for nearly 70 years. John was a man of vision, an entrepreneur, and never afraid to work hard. He was a highly skilled lace weaver, lobsterman/fisherman, builder, and good friend to all who knew him. John was an optimistic good natured family man who faced life’s challenges with a mild-mannered temperament and complete determination to be successful at all his endeavors. John was a person who led by example, who you could depend on to help you thru the rough seas by keeping a strong hand on the tiller and his eyes on the horizon. John was one of the kindest friends you could ever have, lived a life leaving no regrets, and those of us who love him know with faith that he’ll always be with us. Besides his wife Isabel, he leaves a son, John W. Woodruff of Narragansett and a sister, Mary Daniels of Swansea, MA. He was the father of the late Glen and Jeff Woodruff. Visiting hours will be Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, followed by a graveside service at noon in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston.
