John H. Stein, 83, of Wakefield, died Monday. He was the beloved husband of Audrey (Gardner) Stein. Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, he was a son of the late Clarence and Emma (Hildebrandt) Stein. Mr. Stein was employed for the Boy Scouts of America for 36 years, retiring as Director of Personnel in November of 1989. He served with the US Army during WW II, and is a member of the American Legion. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Stein and his wife Karen of Cranston and Mark Stein and his wife Kay of Oxford, MD; four grandchildren, Haley, Evan, Emily, and Katharine; a half sister, Ruth Stein of Kenosha, Wisconsin. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Kingston. Burial will be private in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88Columbia Street, Wakefield, Wednesday 4-7 PM.
