John R. Stackow, Jr.

John R. Stackow, Jr., 74, of Wakefield, died Saturday May 30th, 2015, with serenity at home after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Carol (Buratti) Stackow for 49 years. He is also survived by a daughter, Karen Stackow of Wakefield; two granddaughters, Morgan Ketner and Devyne Doran, both of Wakefield; a brother Robert Stackow; and two sisters, Bonnie Kellogg and Patricia Ziegler, all of the North Hampton, MA area. John was a Navy veteran serving on various carriers in Helicopter Squad # 5. He worked in the public sector as a Jet Engine Mechanic and Flight Engineer, traveling the world over. He loved sport fishing and won many awards for his catches. He was known for his quiet demeanor, his simple logic, wide smile and willingness to help those in need. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, June 12, 2015 at 11 am in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Kindly omit flowers.
