John M. Dr. Simpson

SIMPSON, DR. JOHN M., 63, of Wakefield and formerly of Beaver, PA, died unexpectedly Monday at home. He was the beloved husband of Renny (Pudussery) Simpson for thirty-nine years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Terrence G. and Elizabeth R. (Major) Simpson. Dr. Simpson was a professor of chemistry at Beaver Campus, Penn State University for thirty-five years before retiring. He received his BS from U.R.I. and his PhD from Penn State University. He enjoyed sailing, fishing, travel, wine making and spending time with his family. Besides his wife he leaves a son Dan Simpson and his wife Debbie of Indianapolis, IN; their children Nick, Kelly and Lindsay Kern; brothers, Terrence Simpson Esq. of Kingston, Noel Simpson of Narragansett and Dr. Brian Simpson of New City, NY. The funeral will be held Thursday at 8:45 AM from the AVERY-STORTI Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Romuald Chapel, Atlantic Ave, Matunuck. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM.
