John Charles Schmitt

John Charles Schmitt II, 51, of Stamford, CT, passed away Saturday, August 13th. He was the loving son of John Schmitt and Eloise (Siddons) Schmitt of Hawley, PA. He was the beloved husband of Angela (Bevan) Schmitt for 20 years. John attended Wallenpaupack Area High School in Hawley, PA. He later received his bachelor’s degree in International Business and Real Estate from the Pennsylvania State University, main campus. He and his wife relocated to RI where he worked for Fleet Precious Metals. He later worked in real estate for CVS Health, and as an Executive Director for J.P. Morgan Chase. John touched everyone around him, and he enjoyed caring for others. He was always on a mission to serve others and make people happy. He had an adventurous side too. John and his wife enjoyed hiking and exploring new areas. He looked forward to the guy’s ski trip and Penn State homecoming with college friends every year. John also loved spending time with family, including his two dogs Tobin and Turner. In addition to his wife and his parents, John is survived by his extended family and a host of friends. He will be deeply missed by all. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 19 from 10 am -12 pm in St. Thomas Moore Church, 53 Rockland St, Narragansett RI., with a Mass of Christian burial at 12 pm, followed by a collation in the parish hall. The Mass will be live-streamed on the parish website, livestream.com/stm/stm-funeral. Burial will follow at a later date.
