John Runge, Jr.

John Runge, Jr., 58, of Lincoln, RI, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of Edith (Henkel) Lagzdins of Wakefield, RI and the late John Runge. John was the building inspector for the town of Cumberland for the last twelve years. He received his BS from SUNY at New Paltz. John grew up in Woodstock, New York, toured the country as a lead guitar player with various groups and was a home builder in Florida. Besides his mother he is survived by a brother, Igor Runge and his wife Ann Marie of Wakefield, RI; a sister, Yvonne Donovan of New Smyrna Beach, FL; two nephews, Max Runge of Wakefield and Barron Donovan of New Smyrna Beach and a niece Erika Runge of Wakefield. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday February 27th from 2-4 PM at the Cumberland Senior Center, 1464 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland.
