John H. Richmond, Jr.

John H. Richmond, Jr., 75, of Wakefield, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Russell) Richmond. Born in South Kingstown, a son of the late John H. Richmond, Sr. and Georgette (Smith) Richmond. Mr. Richmond was a self-employed welder and heavy equipment mechanic. He enjoyed auto racing and tractor pulling. He is survived by his daughters, Gloria J. Gardiner of Wakefield, Mary E. Tefft and her husband Kevin of Wakefield, Cheryl A. Richmond of Wakefield and April L. Richmond of Newport; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Bruce Gardiner. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018, 9-11 am in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, with a funeral service at 11 am. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association of Rhode Island, 245 Waterman St., Unit 306, Providence, RI 02906.
