John Francis Marandola

September 29, 1966 — May 8, 2023

John F. Marandola, 56, of West Kingston, passed away on Monday, May 8th surrounded by his caring family . He was born in Providence, RI to his loving parents, the late Anthony Marandola and Helen (DeStefano) Marandola.

John was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed everything to do with nature. Hiking, kayaking, and camping were some of his favorite activities. Traveling and four-wheeling all over North America in his Land Rover Defender was something he took immense pride in. He had tremendous compassion for animals, from domestic to wild, and had many dogs over the years, all of whom he treasured and mourned like a best friend. Those who knew him best know what a loving and empathetic heart he had, even going so far as to pick up a hitchhiker and providing him with a meal. Making and listening to music was also a very large part of his life and brought him so much joy. He enjoyed playing not only the drums, but the guitar as well.

He leaves behind his children, Maya, Jaron, and Devan, as well as his mother; Helen Marandola, sister; Kristen Manchester, brother in-law; Christopher Manchester, nephews; Liam Manchester and Ryan Mycroft, aunts; Joan Bouressa and Francine Mancini, uncle; Victor Mancini, as well as his ex-wife; Christine Mycroft. He is pre-deceased by his uncle; Paul Bouressa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, May 12th in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Rd, Kingston, 02881. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name to the Smile Train or the South Kingstown Animal Shelter.
