John W. Lewis, Jr, 76, of Alton, passed away Monday, May 9th. He was the former husband of Annie Lewis of Richmond. Born in North Kingstown, he was a son of the late John W., Sr. and Deborah E. (Hyde) Lewis. He will be remembered for his story telling of the great adventures he had during his life. Many will remember him as the man who was always sitting on the porch. He is survived by a daughter, Lori L. McGraw , two grandchildren, Lindsay E. Wright and Robbie L. Wright, and a great granddaughter, Evelynn Wright, all of Richmond; and a brother, Kenneth Lewis of Pennsylvania.. He was the father of the late John W. Lewis, III, grandfather of the late Matthew J.W. Wright, and brother of the late Thelma Dutton, Barbara Ring, Carol Lawing, Dorothy Bouchard, Robert Lewis, Donald Lewis, and Terry Lewis. A graveside service will be held at 2pm Friday in First Hopkinton Cemetery, Ashaway. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
