John H.S. Latham, Iii

John H.S. Latham, III, 64, a former RI resident, died at his home in Ft Walton Beach, FL, September 23, 2011, after a year-long battle with Leukemia. He was the loving companion of Jane Wofford, who resided with him in Florida. He was retired from the Santa Rosa County Sherriff’s Department and the Okaloosa County Correctional Institute. John served in the US Army from 1967-1973 and was an officer of the American Legion Post 235. He was a Hot-Rod Car enthusiast and collected them throughout his life. John was a charismatic and generous guy with many friends both in Florida and here in RI. He will longingly be missed by his family and friends. He was the beloved father of Joseph Latham of Narragansett along with his wife Michelle and their daughters, Victoria and Olivia; he was the father of the late Cheryl Latham, who had three children, Roy Jaswell, Alexandria Barrington, Logan Latham, and her grandson, Jeremy Jaswell, of RI;a loving brother to Cyd Latham of Wakefield; Uncle of Dahlin Wiitala and Stefanie DiIorio of Johnston; he was the former husband of Linda (Ferraro) Latham of Wakefield. A private graveside service is planned in RI at a later date.
