John O. Ladd

John O. Ladd, 83, of Wakefield passed away Monday, August 12, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Anne (Sweeny) Ladd. Born in South Kingstown, a son of the late John E. and Wilkie (Leggett) Ladd. He was a soil conservationist for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture for many years before retiring; a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran; a member of Hope Lodge 25 A.F. the Reo Club of America; loved hunting and spending time in the woods of Maine. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Anderson and her husband Eric of Clifton Park, NY; two sons, Thomas Ladd and his wife Susan of Buckfield, ME and William Ladd and his wife Julie of South Kingstown and five grandchildren, Lauren, Kirsten and Karl Anderson and Chelsea and Haley Ladd. He was the father of the late Cheryl A. Ladd and the brother of the late Gardner and James W. Ladd. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at 11 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Visitation will be Saturday 10-11 AM. Burial will be private.
