John P. Henneberry, Jr., 92, of Narragansett, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 15th. He was the beloved husband of Mae (Grant) Henneberry and the late Agnes (Nelson) Henneberry. Born in Medway, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late John P. Sr. and Alice (Macko) Henneberry. Mr. Henneberry was a communicant of Christ the King Church, a long-time member of the Wakefield Rotary where he was a Paul Harris Fellow, a member of the American Legion, and the Elks. He served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He was an avid golfer, a Boston Red Sox fan, and an archer and bowling enthusiast. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter Lynn Northup and her husband William; a granddaughter, Megan Ready; a grandson, Ian Northup and his wife Jessie; a great-grandson, Kaden Ready; three step-children, Susan DeVoe, Brian Tennien and his wife Karen, and Jane Chadwick and her husband Michael; a brother, James Henneberry and his wife Betty; and a sister Mary Wolf. He was the step-father of the late Stephen Tennien and brother of the late Kenneth Henneberry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday at Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Sunday 4-7 pm.
