John "Jack" Louis Heineman Iv

March 21, 2002 — July 7, 2025

John “Jack “ Louis Heineman IV, 23 years old, of South Kingstown, Rhode Island, left this world far too soon on July 7, 2025.

Jack attended The Saint Andrew’s School in Barrington, Rhode Island and graduated from The Prout School in Wakefield, Rhode Island in 2020. He then attended the University of Rhode Island to study Engineering. Jack was a gifted student, who loved history and politics. He was a member of The National Honor Society and an Eagle Scout with Troop 138 West Kingston, Rhode Island.

Jack loved the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, whether on a river or on the open ocean. Jack loved wooded trails, high heights, roller coasters and skiing the glades on any snowy path. He recently climbed every high tower and dome he could find in Italy. Jack found solace in his music, which was a big part of his life. He enjoyed a wide range of genres, from folk to jazz to rap music.

Jack was a fearless adventurer. He would try everything, go anywhere and do anything. He was known for his kindness and generosity. Jack always had room in his heart for others. He had a creative mind and could find beauty in the smallest things. He brought warmth and joy to everyone who knew him. Jack was a bright star in the life of his family.

Jack is survived by his adoring parents, Joseph and Andrea (Salerno) Heineman, his loving brother and closest friend, Joseph “Joey” Heineman, his devoted grandparents, Nicholas and Donna Salerno of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and Helen Heineman of Framingham, Massachusetts. Jack is also survived by many loving and supportive aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends, who served as part of his extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 12th at 11 AM at Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston, RI.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Rhode Island Foundation for Families and Alumni Engagement, known as URI FAE (please, denote “Jack Heineman”). This includes Rhody Outpost, which serves students who are experiencing food and basic needs insecurity and Disability, Access and Inclusion.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Rhody Outpost or the Department of Disability, Access, and Inclusion at the University of Rhode Island. The Rhody Outpost serves students who are experiencing food and basic needs insecurity. You may mail a check made payable to URI Foundation and Alumni Engagement, at PO Box 1700, Kingston, RI 02881, with a note in the memo line of "Jack Heineman” and the designation of your choice or make a secure gift online by visiting the giving form and searching for Rhody Outpost or Disability Services for Students Fund.
