John D. Goodell

John D. Goodell, 58, of Wakefield, died unexpectedly Tuesday. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Ogden) Goodell for 30 years. Born in Tracy, California, he was a son of John and Gertrude (Utter) Goodell of San Joaquin, California. Mr. Goodell has been employed at Naval Branch Health Clinics Groton Sub Base, New London., for the past eight years. He served in the US Navy, retiring as Chief after 24 years of service. He joined the Navy at the Age of 26 and this gave him and his wife the opportunity to live all over the world. In 2004 he earned his BS degree from Roger Williams University and was currently working towards his Master’s degree. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by three brother-in-laws, Gary McCoy of Manteca, CA, Bob Ogden and his wife Diane of California, and Bill Ogden of Nevada; a niece and two nephews. He was the brother of the late Deby McCoy. Visiting hours will be held at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Thursday, May 31st from 5-6 PM, followed by a memorial service at 6 PM.
