John Ford, Jr., 83, of Wakefield, passed away Sunday, May 6th. He was the beloved husband of Marie (Boisclair) Ford for 60 years. Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of the late John Sr. and Helen (McElheney) Ford. Mr. Ford served in the Army and was a Korean Conflict era veteran. After the service he was a commercial fisherman, farmer, and for the past 45 years, has been a truck driver. He was very active in volunteering his time for the American Legion and the VFW. Besides his wife he is survived by four children; twin daughters Joann Ford of Wakefield and Joyce Campbell and her husband Walter of Wakefield; John Ford, III and his wife Heather of Richmond, and Jennifer Ford and her fianc Richard Manzi of Wakefield; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Frederick Ford. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Tuesday, May 15th, 5 7 pm. There will also be a get together to celebrate Johns life and share memories on Saturday June 2nd at the South Kingstown Elks #1899, 60 Belmont Ave, Wakefield beginning at 5pm.
