John Francis Flynn, 74, of Charlestown, passed away peacefully at home on Monday. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John and Mary B. (Jeromski) Flynn. Mr. Flynn enjoyed travelling, skiing, growing tomato plants, Irish Music, loved his animals, and was proud of his gravel bank. He served with the 19th Special Forces Unit of the Rhode Island Army National Guard. He is survived by three children; Anne Margaret, Jack, and Eryn Courtney; a granddaughter, Meghan Caranci; eight brothers, Michael, Brian, Paul, Martin, Steven, Francis, William, and Thomas Flynn; three sisters, Mary Borowski, Roseanne Bruno, and Kathy Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow with military honors in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Friday 4-7 pm.
