John F. Fallon, Sr.

John F. Fallon, Sr., 88, of East Matunuck, passed away on April 24th at South County Hospital. He was married to the late Virginia M. Fallon (Figgins) for 60 years. Born in New Jersey to John F. Fallon and Margaret Hickey he was raised in Providence by his sister Alice and her husband Jack Cronin. He is a graduate of La Salle Academy where he coached football with Jack for many years. John is a veteran of WWII and Korea. He graduated from Dartmouth College, was employed by John Hancock, and eventually retired from the USPS. John is survived by his children Virginia Skelly (James), Plano, TX, John F. Fallon, Jr. (Carol), East Greenwich, Mary Lewis (Gary Oldham), North Attleboro, Kenneth Fallon (Donna), N. Kingstown and brother in law Kenneth Figgins and children, Narragansett. John is beloved by his eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 28, at 10:00 AM at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow at 11:30 AM at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter with military honors. Visiting hours will be Sunday April 27 from 5:00-7:00 PM at The Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield.
