Captain John W. "Jack". Christy, on the wings of a Dove, assisted by Angels, Captain Jack Christy, passed into Heaven on July 27, 2016. He was a resident of Wakefield, RI for 26 years…. and as Jack used to say, he was married to the love of his life, Lois (Schoenewald) Christy for 28 years. He is survived by a son, Jack Christy , III of Wildwood, New Jersey; two daughters Deborah Ache of Newark, Delaware and Christina Booker of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; eight stepchildren, Nancy Hunt of San Marcos, Texas, Sheryl Emmett of Ormond Beach, FL, Dolores Schoenewald of Westerville, Ohio, Marjorie Schoenewald of Dallas, Texas, Janet Bright of Seabrook, Texas, Dean Schoenewald of Holdensville, Oklahoma, Thomas Schoenewald of Fairview, New Jersey, and Joseph Schoenewald of Ocean City, New Jersey; and thirteen grandchildren. Captain Jack loved his deep blue sea and was a Commercial Fisherman his whole life. In later years, he piloted the Viking Queen for 16 years in Newport, RI. He was a Volunteer Fireman for nearly 60 years, first in Somers Point, New Jersey, then Tuckahoe, New Jersey, and finally with Station 8, in Wakefield, Rhode island, where he served as a life member and president, for many years. Jack was a sincere man and true husband, and was especially friendly to his group of dedicated young men, who make up Station 8 in Wakefield, Captain Jack had always said that Lois was his whole life, and he will be missed sorely by her. He will await the time when the two of them will be together forever in Heaven, Amen. Services are private.
