John Smith Card

John Smith Card, 54, of Wakefield passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 after a brief illness. He was the life partner of Erik Thompson. Born in Wakefield, he was the son of Barbara Kogut and the late Norman W. Card. John was employed at Old Mountain Lanes, Wakefield. He worked as a cook in many South County restaurants. John was also a talented artist. Besides his partner, he is survived by his sister, Joanne LaBelle and her husband Ben of Kingston; his brother Norman (Buzzy) Card and his wife Bonnie of Delaware, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late David Card. A celebration of his life will take place at the home of Joanne LaBelle, 178 Springdale Dr., Kingston on Sunday, October 30 from 2-5 PM. His funeral service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League Shelter on Curtis Corner Road, Po Box 458, Wakefield, RI 02880
