John H. Bridges

John H. Bridges, 88, of Winter St., Wakefield, died Tuesday at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Lora (Sherman) Bridges for sixty-six years. Born in Weymouth, MA, he was the son of the late Eugene G. and Henrietta M. (Chellis) Bridges. Mr. Bridges was a dairy farmer for several farms in South County for many years. He also worked at the Main Street Branch Co, Town of South Kingstown and the Shadow Farm Estate. After retirement he grew and sold vegetables for several years. Besides his wife he leaves a son, Kenneth Bridges; five daughters, Carol DiBiasio, Llora Bridges, Cheryl Holland, Barbara Wheeler and Linda Towne; twenty-three grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Robert Ferbert. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Coumbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Visiting hours Friday 5-8 PM.
